The client’s manufacturing unit had 4 air coolers with ducting system that ran above the false ceiling. Those ducts had sufficient diffusers to distribute the cooled air inside the manufacturing unit. This eliminates the need for turbo vents on the galvalume sheet. We demonstrated that the removal of turbo vents not only provide them with sufficient shadow free area but also doesn’t harm the manufacturing environment.
The client had a single galvalume roof. The roof had 7 turbo vents for ventilation. During shadow analysis, we found that the shadow from turbo vents affect significant area resulting in minimal shadow free area.
As the removal of turbo vents is justified with sufficient information, the client agreed to remove them. This resulted in installing the planned 85 kW rooftop solar in the existing roof’s shadow free area.
Optimal energy generation is ensured by installing the solar panels in the shadow free area without compromising the ventilation in the manufacturing unit.
